The business first started in 1977 as a small nursery. The Mooney family purchased it around 1980 and introduced a landscape materials yard which they operated for a 23 year period under the name of Big Garden Centre.
The Buderim Landscape Centre was born in 2003 when the Johnson family purchased the business from the Mooney’s, and proceeded to join forces with the Plants Plus buying group (a member of the John Danks group - which is also affiliated with the Home Hardware and Thrifty Link stores). See www.plantsplus.com.au/home/default.asp
Since 2003, the Buderim Landscape Centre has grown significantly with more products and services being added to the already busy establishment. The influx of people to the Sunshine Coast has contributed to the progress and development of the business with turnover and customer numbers increasing each year.
Antiquated machinery and what was a ‘tired’ shop and plant nursery have been replaced with updated machinery, office equipment, availability of services, a pleasant shopping environment and helpful and knowledgeable staff.
